Multi-Modal Medical Image Registration

We are working on non-rigidly registering multi-modal images, including nuclear medicine images to x-ray CT using mutual information and intensity correlation based similarity metrics.

This project is in collaboration with Dr Anna Celler (VGH) and Dr Philip Cohen (LGH).

Image fusions produced before (top row) and after (bottom) registration is performed on a thoracic study:

 Coronal, sagittal, and axial views of the image fusions before and after registration.

The surface shown in gold is extracted from the SPECT image while the surface shown in purple is extracted from the CT image.
