Nicolas Lomenie received the Dipl. Eng. degree from the French National Institute of Telecommunication, Paris, and PhD in Computer Sciences from University Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, in 1997. He is now Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Sciences, University Paris Descartes. His current research interests include automatic interpretation of high-resolution satellite images and 3D scene understanding. The overwiew of the talk is the following : general description of the research projects and of the scientific organization in the field of image analysis at University Paris Descartes, then the description of two projects which Nicolas Lomenie is more involved in (unorganized point set analysis by mesh morphological filtering operators - detection of geographical objets like bridges and roundabouts in VHR satellite images).
