Imaging in Nuclear Medicine -- Is Chemistry Important?

November 15, 2005
Location: PIMS lecture room at SFU, EAA 1100
Presenter: Dr Don Lyster, Department of Radiology, Vancouver Hospital & HealthSciences Centre and UBC

This seminar will examine how changes in the chemical state or structure of a molecule can have significant changes in the kinetics and biodistribution of the radiopharmaceutical. These changes then need to be optimized to answer the clinical question that is being asked. Several radiopharmaceuticals used in nuclear medicine will be reviewed to illustrate these principles.
