Research Interests

Modifying/stabilizing current 2D watershed segmentation approaches to novel domain-specific (ie. corpus callosum, vena cava) datasets.

Extension of watershed segmentation to 3D.

Improving local deformations of genetic algorithms in segmenting the corpus callosum in MR images.

Other academic/personal ventures:

I am currently Vice-President of the Cognitive Science Student Association (http://www.sfu.ca/cogs/), sit on the Executive at CJSF 90.1FM as the Training Dept Coordinator (http://www.cjsf.ca/), and of course work in the Medical Image Analysis Lab (http://mial.fas.sfu.ca/) as a research assistant (funded via NSERC and my supervisor Dr. Hamarneh). I am still loosely affiliated with the Human Electrophysiology Lab (http://www.sfu.ca/~erp/) in the Dept of Psychology. I will be finishing my degrees in Computing Science and Cognitive Science (with Honours) very shortly.
